Door to Door Fundraising

Door-to-door fundraising is a vital component of the Foundation’s efforts to enhance patient care at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and to help equip the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital.

Through this program, beginning in April, we’re asking you and your neighbours in Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Woodbridge to join Mackenzie Health Foundation’s Partners in Care Monthly Giving Program.

As a caring partner, your gift supports the purchase of much needed equipment throughout Mackenzie Health, helping to bring exceptional care close to home for you, your family, friends and community.

Mackenzie Health Foundation has partnered with Appco Group to find new Partners. Appco Group canvassers receive comprehensive training about the mission and work of Mackenzie Health so they can speak to you on our behalf. These canvassers are not on commission. They receive a daily rate from a pre-allocated fundraising budget when canvassing on behalf of Mackenzie Health Foundation.
How do I know a fundraiser is legitimate?

Fundraisers for Mackenzie Health Foundation will have identification badges and branded attire.

Why fundraise door-to-door?

Door-to-door fundraising is one of the most effective and personal ways we can reach out to donors.

Are Mackenzie Health Foundation fundraisers volunteers?

Mackenzie Health Foundation canvassers are compensated with an hourly wage and do not receive commissions. Fundraisers are paid through Appco Group. Mackenzie Health Foundation and Appco Group adhere to Imagine Canada’s Standards Program for charitable and non-profit organizations. Why can’t I make a cash donation?

For safety reasons, we do not allow our canvassers to accept or carry cash donations. If you are interested in making a donation, please do so using our online donation form or contact the Foundation at 905-883-2032.

How do I know my donation is going to Mackenzie Health?
  • You’ll receive an email notification within minutes of agreeing to your donation.
  • Within a few days, you will receive a telephone call from Mackenzie Health Foundation to confirm your intention to make a monthly donation.
What if I want to cancel my monthly donation?

You may cancel your monthly donation at any time. You may also change the amount of your donation or the day of the month your donation is processed, by calling Mackenzie Health Foundation at 905-883-2032.
